Spaghetti Bolognese

 adapted from The Telegraph
Ingredients:
2 tbsp olive oil
2 large onions, chopped
6 garlic cloves, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
20 Ikea meatballs
400ml red wine
1 bottle of tomato sauce (approx 450ml)
2 dashes of basil
salt and freshly ground black pepper
freshly grated parmesan cheese, to serve

Protocol:
1. Heat the oil in a large, heavy-based saucepan and fry onions and garlic, until softened. Increase the heat and add the minced beef. Fry it until it has browned. Pour in the wine and tomato sauce. 
2. Cover with a lid and simmer over a gentle heat for 1-1½ hours until it's rich and thickened, stirring occasionally.
3. Serve with pasta and top with Parmesan and Parsley. Total awesomeness. :)

Sweet and sour Chicken
















Ingredients:


Marinade:
600g chicken thigh fillet
2tbsp shaoxing wine

Batter:
8tbsp flour
8tbsp corn starch
1cup water
1tsp baking soda

6 cloves of garlic

1 can of pineapple
1/2 can of tomatoes
1 cucumber


Sauce:
6tbsp ketchup
2 tsp plum sauce
1tsp Worcestershire sauce
1tsp oyster sauce
6tbsp water
1tsp corn starch
6 dashes of white pepper


Protocol:
1. Marinate chicken with 2tbsp wine for 15 minutes
2. Mix ingredients to make batter and deep fry battered chicken
3. In a seperate pan, fry garlic till fragrant.
4. Add in cucumbers and pineapples and fry
5. Add in tomatoes and sauce mixture. Allow to boil
6. Toss chicken into sauce. Do a quick stir and serve.

Beefed-up Burger Burger!

 














Feeds 2 hungry buffaloes + 1 carnivorous baby giraffe
Ingredients
2 beef patties per burger (x6)
2 red onions
2 slices of good quality cheddar cheese (x6)

Seasonings (to taste)
Cracked black pepper
Salt 
Worcestershire sauce

Protocol:
Just fry the onions and patties and stack them up!

Cheater chocolate cake
















Ingredients
Chocolate cake
Green's chocolate cake instant mix

Chocolate ganache
125g dark chocolate buttons
125g thick cream

Chocolate cream filling
300ml whipped cream
2 tbsp icing sugar
1.5 tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
















Protocol:
1. Bake Green's Chocolate cake according to manufacturer's instructions
2. Allow cake to cool on wire rack
3. Slice cake into half and spread whipped cream (mixed with icing sugar, cocoa powder and vanilla extract)
4. Pour chocolate ganache over (melted over double boiler and chilled in refrigerator before pouring)
5. Chill cake in fridge overnight.
6. Slice and enjoy!
